Why Vetted Bullion exists

Buying precious metals should begin with understanding them.

Physical bullion looks simple: pick a metal, pay the price, own the asset. In practice, an informed purchase involves more than a dozen considerations most first-time buyers have never been shown — spot price, dealer premium, product type, mint, weight, recognizability, liquidity, storage, insurance, shipping, taxes, resale, counterparty considerations, and market volatility.

Vetted Bullion exists to put those considerations on the table in plain language, before you spend a dollar. We are an education and clarity platform — not a dealer, not an adviser, and not a guarantee of outcomes. Precious-metal prices can rise or fall, and no purchase is universally appropriate.

Gold, silver & beyond

Understand the categories before you compare products.

Gold Bullion

The most widely recognized precious metal, typically carrying high value per ounce.

Key consideration: premiums and recognizability vary widely by product type.

Explore Gold Bullion →

Silver Bullion

A lower price-per-ounce entry point with meaningfully different storage and volatility characteristics.

Key consideration: silver takes far more space per dollar of value than gold.

Explore Silver Bullion →

Platinum

An industrial-and-precious hybrid with a smaller market and generally thinner liquidity than gold or silver.

Key consideration: fewer buyers and products means resale takes more planning.

Learn the Fundamentals →

Palladium

A specialized industrial metal with historically sharp price swings in both directions.

Key consideration: volatility and liquidity make this an uncommon first purchase.

Understand the Risks →

Coins

Sovereign-minted, legal-tender bullion — typically the most recognizable, usually at higher premiums.

Key consideration: you pay for recognizability; decide if it matters for your goals.

Compare Formats →

Bars

Refinery-cast or minted metal focused on efficiency — usually the lowest premium per ounce.

Key consideration: larger bars cost less per ounce but are less flexible to sell in parts.

Compare Formats →

Rounds

Private-mint coin-shaped bullion with no legal-tender status, typically priced between bars and coins.

Key consideration: not legal tender — value rests on metal content and mint reputation.

Bullion for Beginners

A guided path through the essentials: pricing, premiums, formats, storage, and first-purchase questions.

Key consideration: the most expensive mistake is usually the rushed one.
